        How fast does the fingerprint scanner unlock?

        The Vaultrex VX-1 biometric sensor unlocks in under 1 second under normal conditions. Accuracy may be slightly reduced if your finger is extremely wet or heavily soiled which is exactly why we include a PIN backup and a physical override key. You're never without access.

        What if the battery dies?

        A red LED indicator warns you well before the battery dies so you can replace it proactively. In the unlikely event the battery does run out, the physical override key — included with every VX-1 — opens the safe immediately. You will never be locked out.

        Can children open it?

        The VX-1 requires a registered fingerprint, a known 4-digit PIN, or a physical override key to open. It is engineered to resist unauthorized access. That said, no safe is completely foolproof — always keep your safe out of reach of children and practice firearm safety education with your family.
